How to Register in ahcancalED 

Easy as 1, 2, 3 !

click the image button found in the upper right corner of your screen or follow these three easy steps below! 

 

Step 1

Go to the ahcancalED site at https://educate.ahcancal.org/and LOG IN using the orange button in the upper left hand corner.

Use your usual user name and password that you would use for LTC Trend Tracker or the AHCA NCAL website. 

If you cannot remember your login- go here and follow the steps to access your account. 

If you are new: click CREATE ACCOUNT button and follow the directions on this page.

New Users: Complete all necessary fields on the "Create an account" screen and; 

*Please note* you must add your member facility name to your login*

Once you are in and can see your name in the upper left hand corner, you are ready to add this product to your cart and checkout.

Click the green register button.

Click the blue COMPLETE REGISTRATION NOW, Fill out the registration and payment details and voila! The products are yours to use indefinitely and can be found in your dashboard (shown on the left hand side of the web page).

Registration and Continental Breakfast is from 7:00 – 7:30 am, with the PDPM Basics Refresher beginning at 7:30 am

Registration Fees: 
  • $350 - first registrant from a facility or corporate office.
  • $250 - registrants 2-5 from same facility or corporate office.
  • $200 - registrants 6 or more from same facility or corporate office.

Group Registrations (volume discount applies if more than one person attends): To register your group from a facility or corporate office, contact educate@ahca.org to receive registration and payment instructions. Once the members of the group have been registered and payment processed, each individual in the group will receive an email with instructions on how to activate their registration using the group code. 

Please note: only provider members of AHCA and the Healthcare Association of Hawaii may register and attend.

Who should register: To be successful with PDPM, Administrators, MDS/billing staff, nurses/DONs, and therapists must be included in the training and education process.

The National Continuing Education Review Service (NCERS) of the National Association of Long Term Care Administrator Boards (NAB) has approved the above named program for continuing education credit with a start date of 3/15/2019 and an expiration date of 3/15/2019.

This continuing nursing education activity was approved by Oregon Nurses Association, an accredited approver by the American Nurses Credentialing Center's Commission on Accreditation for 6 contact hours.  Approval valid through 3/15/202.  OCEAN ID #2019-10.

State licensure boards have final authority on the acceptance of individual courses. 
There is no conflict of interest for any planner or presenter with this learning activity.

To receive a Certificate of Completion, the registration fee must be paid, and each individual must sign-in at the workshop and complete the evaluation.

The PDPM Academy Workshop will be held at the Ala Moana Hotel  (410 Atkinson Drive, Honolulu HI 96814).

Self-parking
in the Ala Moana Hotel Garage will be validated.  Bring your parking stub to the workshop and we’ll validate it for you at Registration.  Valet parking is not covered and costs $25 per car.  Parking in the shopping center parking lot is at your own risk.

Overnight Guests
The Ala Moana Hotel is offering a 12% discount off of the best available rate at the time of booking in the Kona and Waikiki Towers, City/Mountain view.
To get the discount, you may book and pay for your reservation(s) one  of two ways:

Daniel Ciolek, PT, MS, PMP

Associate Vice President, Therapy Services, AHCA

Dan Ciolek is the Associate Vice President of Therapy Advocacy with the American Health Care Association. Mr. Ciolek's clinical and healthcare policy experience spans 30 years. He has practiced as a physical therapist clinician, manager, and business owner in a variety of settings including acute inpatient, inpatient rehabilitation, skilled nursing facility, home health, outpatient, and industrial health. He previously earned the Geriatric Physical Therapy Specialist certification, and is currently a certified Project Management Professional. Before joining AHCA in 2013, Dan served in the Subject Matter Expert and Project Manager capacities in numerous Centers for Medicare and Medicaid contracts. Specific to therapy services, Dan's CMS work has included: national outpatient therapy utilization analysis for PT, OT, and SLP services; medical review; workgroup facilitation; development of policy recommendations; development of Medicare Learning Network and 1-800-Medicare content, and Physician Quality Reporting System reporting enhancements.  Additionally, Dan has contributed to therapy health policy activities at the University, State, Chapter and National levels. These activities included: elected and appointed positions; adjunct faculty/lecturer; author of professional articles; invited speaker; technical expert panelist, and invited contributor of health policy concepts to professional and provider organizations. Dan's advocacy efforts have been recognized through his receipt of two national professional awards for Policy Making and Advocacy for Older Adults. Overall, Dan is recognized as a leading expert in therapy policy and research, including a focus on reimbursement issues. His efforts have contributed directly to numerous Medicare policy changes. 

Nanci Wilson, RPT, DPT, CCI, HHA

Industry/ Government Liaison and Partner- Plum Healthcare Group, LLC

Industry/Government Liaison and Partner- Plum Healthcare Group, LLC. Personal: 42 years of operational/administrative experience within the healthcare industry with a primary focus on geriatrics: 27 years of SNF experience, 13 years of Home Health experience and 2 years of acute rehab experience.  Over the course of the last 12 years with Plum I served in the following roles: Director of Rehab Services: designing a SNF rehab model that was integrated into provider services, President of Plum’s Home Health and Hospice division, Administrator for Plum as the awardee convener for the Model 3 BPCI demonstration program, Land Lead for our M&A team and participant on our Executive Leadership’s Strategic/Innovative Team, Vice President of Research and Development, and Chief Clinical Officer:  focusing on a clinical re-organization project. Since June of 2018, I continue in semi-retired role as Industry/Government Relations Liaison for Plum.  Additionally, I am a member of AHCA’s Reimbursement Cabinet and CAHF’s Government Relations Committee.

  • Aligning buildings and companies to transition to PDPM using AHCA’s PDPM Readiness Tools© and the related core competencies;
  • Classifying residents in case mix groups;
  • Assessing market position in a PDPM environment; and
  • Using organizational, business, and management tools to reconfigure business planning.
