AHCA/AHIMA ICD-10 Training for PDPM – Full Length Coding and Documentation Training (16 Hours)

Now with 2020 code and guideline updates

The Patient Driven Payment Model (PDPM) took effect on October 1, 2019 and the Resource Utilization Groups (RUGs) system ended. PDPM relies on rapid, accurate patient assessment and diagnosis, and on MDS and ICD-10 coding to determine payments for each SNF patient.  Incorrect or insufficient coding can significantly impact the payment rate for each patient. Building ICD-10 coding proficiency is essential to ensure proper reimbursement for needed care and services. SNF billing staff, MDS staff, nursing and therapy staff, and admissions and discharge staff all need to be coding proficient.

To assist in the building of coding proficiency, AHCA has partnered with the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA) to offer two targeted on-line trainings.

This in-depth course features seven modules covering coding and clinical documentation integrity (CDI). The course prepares SNF coding professionals for ICD-10 and includes ICD-10-CM coding guidelines, CDI program implementation, and key concepts that apply to PDPM. Includes 2020 updates, new exercises and case studies demonstrating the correct selection of the principal diagnosis for the MDS and the UB-04.

16 AHIMA CEUs and 16 CNEs for nurses are available upon completion.
