MDS 3.0 Quality Measures

Recorded On: 07/11/2012

For more than a year, the MDS 3.0 measures have been held by CMS for testing and verification. CMS plans to publicly release six short-stay and twelve long-stay MDS 3.0 Quality Measures, posting them on Nursing Home Compare on or about July 19th. While some of the measures look like the old ones, they are new in contents and are now defined by length of stay. Knowing measure composition, risk adjustment method used, and the impact from applied definitions are important to understanding your measure outcomes. The webinar will address these issues as well as other changes you can expect to the Nursing Home Compare website and the 5-Star Rating system.

Learning Objectives:

1. Identify the short and long term quality measures for public reporting
2. Understand the meaning of the definitions related to short-term and long-term and how the definitions impact measurement calculation
3. Learn about changes to be made to the Nursing Home Compare website and 5-Star Rating system.
